A Free Custody X Change Alternative for Schedules and Support

First, the honest version. Custody X Change and this site are not the same kind of product. Their calculators are free, and their paid app adds parenting plans, scheduling, messaging, and journaling. This site is free calculators and schedule tools with no app, no account, and no paid tier. If you want a full co-parenting app, we are not a substitute for one.

We are also not a neutral bystander. We publish free custody schedule and child support tools, so on scheduling we compete with them. Read this page as one vendor describing another. Every claim we make about Custody X Change below comes from checking their site on August 7, 2026, and we link to the exact pages we looked at so you can verify each point yourself.

The short version of the comparison: pick this site when you want quick, cited math and a printable, exportable schedule for free. Pick Custody X Change, or another paid app, when you need ongoing tools two parents share, like documented messaging and a maintained parenting plan.

Their paid app includes parenting plan documents, a scheduling product, parent-to-parent messaging, and journaling, per their pricing page as checked on August 7, 2026. Those are real, useful features for parents who need a shared record over months or years. We do not offer any of them, and we do not plan to pretend a calculator is a substitute.

They also publish free child support calculator pages for every state, while our state calculators currently cover 51 states. Their Texas page cites the Texas Family Code and links to official Texas resources, so their calculator pages are not citation-free. If your state is one we have not built yet, their free calculator may serve you better than our reference table.

Everything here is free with no account: child support calculators for 51 states plus a reference table covering all 50 states and DC, alimony, arrears, and wage garnishment calculators for those same states, a parenting time calculator, a library of 10 custody schedule patterns, and a schedule generator that lays a pattern over real dates and exports an ICS file your calendar app can read.

The other thing we sell, so to speak, is the paper trail. Every consequential figure on this site carries a citation to the statute or official source behind it, and every page shows the date its content was last reviewed. When a state changes a number, the page and its changelog say so. Your calculator inputs stay in your browser and are not sent to us.

One observation from checking their Texas child support page on August 7, 2026. The explanatory text on that page shows the current Texas cap: monthly net resources above $11,700 are excluded from the guideline percentage, the figure in effect since September 1, 2025. A disclaimer inside the calculator on the same page still reads that a court may increase support if the payor earns more than $9,200, which is the earlier cap figure.

Two different cap figures appear on that one page as of that date, and the page shows no updated or reviewed date, so a reader cannot tell which figure reflects the current check. Mismatches like this happen on large sites, and this one may be fixed by the time you read this. We flag it for a narrow reason: above-cap cases are exactly where the cap figure changes the math, and it is the kind of drift our dated review trail exists to catch on our own pages.
